Right now the big climate
conference is going on in Copenhagen. 110 prime ministers are there, so
hopefully they will find solutions to the problems. - Some of the family
events, 2009, were: A very nice travel to a town called Monsteras, about 200
km north of here, where Kerstin’s brother-in-law, Jarl-Ejnar, turned 75, in
April. – In May, we were invited to Steen’s sister Jette’s, grandchild
Frederikke’s fine confirmation. We met all in our Danish family leg. - In
June we enjoyed the visit of our American family, Mikael & Liz and their
four children. They were in Sweden for three weeks, so could be together
although they had a heavy program. For the children, it was the first travel
to Europe, so it was exiting for them and for us. – Our traditional biking
tour with Kerstin’s sister and her husband, along German rivers, took us
this year to our river no 8: Ruhr. The river is very clean and we did not
see anything that normally associates with the Ruhr-district’s heavy
industry. Our trip started and ended in Arnsberg. In the end of the trip
there were ”Schützenfest”, going on. A ”Schützenfest is a traditional
festival surrounding a
target shooting competition, in the culture of
Germany. It celebrates with processions and for all, musical
entertainment, especially brass bands. – Back home in Sweden, we enjoyed the
visit of our friends from Luxembourg: Jetty & Guy. - During their short
visit, especially Jetty showed us that we are living in a house influenced
by rather strong, from the ground coming, electrical up-streams. We checked
the house with a “Y”-formed stick, the same type as one use to search for
underground water. We found many and strong veins. I know it sounds like
fictitious nonsense, but it works. Now we have placed a cobber plate under
Steen’s PC-chair. His consuming of the medical ”Atarax”, as he had taken for
many years, without knowing why, but a medical that stopped the daily
attacks, has dropped to the half. Any scientific explanation is not
available, but a man in Switzerland has described the phenomena. I think the
problem is similar to what is called ”electric allergy”. – Steen has got a
new PC. This time it is with a Vista operating system. Not alone that, but a
“Vista 64 bits”. It has not been a success. Much time has gone with computer
trouble. – In July Hanne Seifert turned 70 year. Hanne is married to Steen’s
fellow-student Carl Seifert. We were on the fine feast held in “Open Field
Museum's” restaurant in Kongens Lyngby, Denmark. - Young at heart, gets its
too, through the purchase of a radio-controlled helicopter Steen has had an
outlet for his flight needs. The challenge of controlling a helicopter is
fun, but the crash landing is unfortunately, as yet, widespread. - We wish
everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! |
